Message from CEO – 9 September 2018

Dear All,

What a wonderful start to the academic year.

The thought and care you are all giving to providing unforgettable experiences and inspirational learning for children in schools across our Trust is again evident this week. At Kingshill Church school Mrs Bennett and Year 6 led a fun-packed assembly launched TT Rock Stars – Times Tables challenge for Years 2-6, complete with a rock band!

This week has provided so many examples of the power of collaborative working.  I met with the Central School Support Team including our RDLAs Jon, Deborah, Paula, Ian and Sue our Early Years Adviser, to explore how our values and vision will translate into innovative, best practice across this term and beyond.  Discussions were characterised by a ‘buzz’ of energy, inspirational creative ideas and an absolute determination from all to share expertise to make every BWMAT hub the best that it can be for the pupils within it and across our Trust.

I have been struck by the time, skill and effort site managers and premises staff have put into working with other staff to make learning environments safe, well organised and wonderful places for our pupils to learn.  In each school, office and support staff were extending warm welcomes to staff, pupils, parents, carers and other visitors and evidencing their skills and commitment to facilitating the effective running of their school.

In our schools, across our hubs and throughout our central team, there has been a tangible sense of shared purpose, passion and energy.  As the term has started, teams and individuals have shown commitment, skill, determination and resilience, working together to move forward and focusing on the thing that unites us – providing the very best education to nurture, support and challenge every pupil in our Trust.   I am hugely grateful to you all.

Finally, it is wonderful to see the way in which children have been welcomed to school across our Trust at the start of the year. Ensuring that children have a joy filled and positive start reminds us all how important your work is.

Kind regards

Philip
