Christmas message from our Chair of Trustees, Pam Cosh
As a retired teacher I remember the frenetic activity of carol services and nativity plays and producing Christmas related crafts, but there was always a moment in all the flurry of activity that could catch me off guard and I had a ‘lump in the throat’ and a true emotional response to the whole Christmas experience. One of these moments I would like to share with you all.
A seven year old child with complex communication needs was dressed in a cardboard crown and a brocade outfit bringing a gift to the Christ child in the manger. He had no words to express his excitement and thanks, he merely laid down his gift, stood centre stage and raised his hands and applauded. The staff and parents all had tears in their eyes.
There are often times when we struggle to find the words to express our feelings and heartfelt thanks. If you have ever seen the BBC’s Repair Shop programme, those whose treasured possessions often fumble for the right words as they have a truly emotional response but all say thank you.
I would like to take a moment to thank all staff, governors and volunteers on behalf of the Board of Trustees, for all you contribute to the Trust. Just like the applauding child and those people on The Repair Shop , I am searching for meaningful words to truly express our sincere thanks for all you contribute to the BWMAT and the children who attend our schools. Thank you All.
May I wish you a happy and blessed time over the Christmas break and hope that you too can take a moment to applaud the Christ child and reflect on all the love we receive from Him.
Pam
