Ofsted praise for All Saints which helps pupils to reach their full potential
“Everyone is there for each other” at a Yeovil primary school, which has been rated ‘Good’ by education watchdog Ofsted.
All Saints Church School, in Yeovil Road, Montacute, underwent an inspection in November, and the outcome has delighted both staff and pupils.
With 202 children on roll, the school prides itself on helping every one of its pupils “be the best version of themselves,” according to the report.
High expectations are set by staff across all aspects of school life, Ofsted recognised.
All Saints’ high attendance was praised by inspectors, reflecting the students’ “enthusiasm for school”.
The report said: “Pupils enjoy their learning. They come to life when talking about their lessons and how well adults support them.
“They reflect their enthusiasm for school in their high attendance.”
The school, which is part of the Bath and Wells Diocesan Academies Trust, has introduced a new approach to behaviour, which has been praised by parents and carers.
Ofsted noted: “Consequently, pupils behave well in class and at social times.”
And a “calm feel” was reported by inspectors across the school, which takes pride in its nurturing and inclusive environment.
Students at All Saints are learning about making a difference in the world through adopting leadership roles within the school.
And staff undergo regular training to ensure they are meeting the needs of all pupils, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Reading was noted as a top priority at All Saints, and a love of books is promoted among pupils.
Headteacher, Sharon Bowditch, said: “As a school community, we are absolutely thrilled with the outcome of our recent inspection.
“We couldn’t be more grateful for our teachers, who work tirelessly, day in and day out, to provide the best education for our children.
“And of course, our families, who give unwavering support to the school.
“The result is a testament to our staff, our pupils, our families, and our community.”
