Message From CEO – 12 January 2020

Dear All,

The Spring term 2020 has begun with energy, enthusiasm and commitment from staff, teachers and leaders across our Trust.  It has been fantastic to see pupils’ motivation and excitement for new topics, skills and learning.

St John the Evangelist Church School proudly completed their ‘Follow the Star’ Advent Challenge at the end of last term.  This wonderful display celebrates this Advent Challenge.

A great visit from Zoo Lab introduced their Animal Kingdom topic this term.  The pupils enjoyed meeting a corn snake, a cockroach, a tarantula and a frog.

Bathampton Primary School started the new year with some exciting learning.  Can you tell what is happening?

Batheaston Church School have been busy with science investigations.  From pushes, pulls and twists with ping pong balls and CDs, to sound waves and vibrations with drums and strings.

Sports teams from Court De Wyck and Kingshill Church Schools have already been out and about this week.  Groups of year 5 and 6 attended a Dodgeball Competition at Hutton Moor.  There were over 180 games of Dodgeball played across the afternoon with more than 160 pupils, representing 19 school teams.

Kingfisher and Kestrel classes from Court De Wyck Church School spent a whole day with a Viking.  They learnt all about where Vikings came from, what they wore, what they ate and much more.  They especially enjoyed taking part in a battle, pretending to be Viking warriors.

There will be a number of vacancies on the BWMAT website over the coming weeks with exciting opportunities for career development across our Trust including opportunities for secondments to support both teaching and leadership.  Please take a look if any of these are of interest to you.

Making our Trust a wonderful place for pupils to flourish is at the heart of all that you do each week.  In our schools, across our Hubs and throughout our central support team, there is a sense of purpose, passion and energy.  It has been wonderful to hear about and see pupils growing, developing and learning with enthusiasm.

Kind regards
