Message From CEO 4 June 2017

Dear All,

As we begin the final half term of this academic year, the light created by ‘Together in Voice, Together in Faith, Life in All Its Fullness’ is, I am sure, still burning brightly in the memories of all of those in Wells Cathedral on the evening of Monday 22nd May.  There was a tangible sense of joy and ‘togetherness’ as children and the BWMAT teachers’ choir celebrated through wonderful singing, thoughtful readings and prayers.

Thank you to Duncan Gordon who so beautifully captured children rejoicing and the essence of the evening.

Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust Directors would like to pass on their thanks to all staff who contributed to the planning and preparation of ‘Together in Voice’ and particularly to Peter Selby and Nicola Thompson for such an inspirational evening.

On Friday 26th May, Head teachers and Deputies new-to-post from September came together for an induction day in Wells. We welcomed high quality leaders new to our Trust alongside highly talented, motivated teachers and leaders who have achieved internal promotion.  It was exciting to catch a glimpse of what the next academic year will bring. Thank you to the Diocese and Helen Fenn in particular for her valuable contribution to the day.

This last half term is always a unique combination of teachers, staff and leaders working together to provide the highest quality teaching and learning whilst looking up and out into the future – making plans to build on successes, develop further and aim even higher in the next academic year.  Over thirty staff volunteered to play a leading part in Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust Hub Network meetings for 2017-18.  Thank you to all those of you who offered to contribute to the development of leadership, teaching and learning in each hub and to each community of learners: BWMAT teachers, TAs, leaders and staff.

Over the next few months there will be celebrations and leavers’ services, Sports Days, plays and performances, expeditions and visits, new parents’ meetings and transition projects. Learning will be feeding pupils’ curiosity, firing their enthusiasm, challenging their thinking, deepen and broaden their knowledge, skills and understanding.  Development plans for individual schools, each hub and our Trust in 2017-18 will be sharpened and finalised.  I am looking forward to sharing news about many of these developments from across our Trust with you in the coming weeks.

Kind regards

Philip
