'Something for everyone’ - more than 2,000 educators and school staff will gather in Somerset next June
One of the biggest festivals of education in the South West will bring together teachers, non-teaching staff, acclaimed speakers and much more for two days in Somerset next June.
BWMATFest25, hosted by the Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust, promises 'something for everyone,' with around 2,000 attendees expected over the two-day event on June 18 and 19 at the Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet.
Wednesday, 18 June, is primarily for BWMAT colleagues, while Thursday, 19 June, is open to all other educators.
Both days are aimed at everyone in school-age education and around 30 of the UK’s most respected education thinkers have been signed up to speak on a wide range of topics.
The event promises to be invaluable for career development in an atmosphere of fun, enjoyment and learning – all aimed at helping children become the ‘best version of themselves’
The festival is being run by the 42-school BWMAT in conjunction with Independent Thinking, the highly respected group of education speakers which is celebrating its 30th anniversary over the next 12 months.
Both days will feature a range of speakers, workshops, specially-chosen businesses and more as well as exciting food stalls and the chance to network and relax with colleagues from schools in the region and beyond.
BWMAT Chief Executive Nikki Edwards said: “This is such an exciting development for BWMAT and our partnership for BWMATFest25 with Independent Thinking will make it the kind of event no one in education wants to miss.
“We have deliberately tried to put together a festival which is fun, inspiring and has something for all staff in all schools. No one is excluded.
"We will be welcoming staff from all 42 of our schools as wells as colleagues from across the region and beyond.”
BWMATFest25 will be staged at the Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet. As well as the speakers, discussions and networking events, education-focused businesses will showcase their services in a special ‘marketplace’ area which will also have a large range of ‘street food’ stalls from around the world.
